This section
will show you the great care that the Thomas Colace Comapny goes through.
From the beginning stages of the seedling process right through the
packing of the tomatoes for you.
We
begin our journey with the seed...
This
soil, which has allready been steralized, will be used along with the
seed in the green house to develop "Seedlings" or small Tomato plants.
The seed and soil are placed by machine into a steralized tray that
will be the home of the "Seedling" for now.
The intial four steps are shown here.

The
green house will be the home of the "Seedling" for the next 6 weeks
The "Seedling" is watched over very carefully. The tray is checked
for moisture content and is watered on an as needed basis upto as many
as 5 times per day.

As the "Seedling" approaches maturity it develops more
size. The crop of "Seedlings" appears to be uniform. This will enable
a consistent harvest through all of the fields.

The
crop is almost ready for planting. The "Seedling" on the right is ready
for planting!
